چکیده
Abstract Background Pantothenic acid deficiency (PAD) results in growth depression and intestinal hypofunction of animals. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain to be elucidated. Mucosal proteome might reflect dietary influences on physiological processes. Results A total 128 white Pekin ducks one-day-old were randomly assigned two groups, fed either a PAD or pantothenic adequate (control, CON) diet. After 16-day feeding period, from each replicate sampled measure plasma parameters, morphology, mucosal proteome. Compared CON group, high mortality, retardation, fasting hypoglycemia, reduced insulin, oxidative stress observed group. Furthermore, induced morphological alterations small intestine indicated by villus height surface area duodenum, jejunum, ileum. The duodenum showed that 198 proteins up-regulated 223 down-regulated (> 1.5-fold change) group compared those Selected confirmed Western blotting. Pathway analysis these exhibited suppression glycolysis gluconeogenesis, fatty beta oxidation, tricarboxylic cycle, phosphorylation, stress, absorption indicating impaired energy generation abnormal absorption. We also show nine out eleven involved regulation actin cytoskeleton PAD, probably indicates integrity. Conclusion leads ducks, which are associated with generation, absorption, These findings provide insights into PAD.

Effects of Dietary Methionine Levels on Choline Requirements of Starter White Pekin Ducks
A 2×5 factorial experiment, using 2 dietary methionine levels (0.28% and 0.48%) and 5 dietary choline levels (0, 394, 823, 1,239, and 1,743 mg/kg), was conducted to study the effects of dietary methionine status on choline requirements of starter white Pekin ducks from 7 to 28 days of age. Four hundred eighty 7-d-old male White Pekin ducks were randomly allotted to ten dietary treatments, each ...
متن کاملThe modification of choline deficiency by simultaneous pantothenic acid deficiency.
It was found recently (1) that feeding a cholesterol-rich diet to pantothenic acid-deficient rats did not result in the fatty livers and high levels of cholesterol in liver and serum seen in comparable animals maintained on a normal diet. Decrease in food intake appeared not to account for this phenomenon, since the food intake of the deficient group on a body weight basis was higher than that ...

Bean and Hodges (1) gave a preliminary report of four young men in whom clinical disorders and metabolic faults were induced by a "diet" devoid of pantothenic acid, with omega-methylpantothenic acid, a vitamin antagonist (Figure 1). It is proposed here to describe details of the experiments, results, and some interpretations. The background for using molecular antagonists (2, 3) in human nutrit...
متن کاملThe effect of pantothenic acid deficiency on acetylation in rats.
The ability of normal and pantothenic acid-deficient rats to acetylate a foreign substance was compared by injection of p-aminobenzoic acid (PAB) and the subsequent measurement of the acetylated PAB excreted. Young male rats weighing around 100 gm. or mature rats averaging over 300 gm. were used in various experiments. Those selected for pantothenate deficiency were given a purified diet free o...
